  ICS-400: Advanced ICS/Command & General Staff-Complex Incidents

  ICS 300 MEMA
ICS 300 will be hosted at the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency @ 1 Mema Dr. Pearl, MS. The course will consist of two full days or classroom instruction and exercises.

ICS-300 provides training and resources for personnel who require advanced knowledge and application of the ICS. This course expands upon information covered in the ICS-100 and ICS-200 courses.

  Damage Assessment Class/Bolivar County EOC - Cleveland MS
A Damage Assessment class will be held at the Bolivar County EMA Office Wednesday, 2/12/2014 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. The course will be led by Denny Evans, Area Coordinator for District 3. Jesse Murphree/Training Coordinator with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency will be assisting. This is an “Evening Class”.

Course Overview
This course provides information and resources that will enable participants to plan an effective damage assessment program and conduct rapid and effective damage assessments in order to save lives, protect property and the environment, and begin the process of recovery and mitigation.

Course Objectives:
•Explain basic concepts related to damage assessment.
•Describe how risk and vulnerability assessment information is used for damage assessment planning.
•Explain the process for planning the damage assessment program.
•Describe how training and exercises are used to enhance the damage assessment program.
•Describe basic operations of local damage assessment.
•Describe damage assessment after-action activities.
Primary Audience
Local officials who are responsible for assessing, collecting, and reporting damages during and after any event that causes damage of private, public, and critical infrastructure

Location- Rankin County EOC

ICS 402 provides an orientation to the incident command system. It’s designated for executives and senior officials, while it’s not into extreme detail on each topic. It does give an overview so officials understand the processes happening around them during an incident or planned event. The course is 2+ hours. Topics covered are: what is ICS, Organization & features, unified and area command, coordination and incident management assessment, and NIMS preparedness.

  RDPC / AWR 147 / Rail Car Incident Response
This eight-hour awareness-level course is designed to increase the knowledge of first responders in recognizing and characterizing the different types of rail cars, potential leaks, and courses of action to be taken based on initial site assessment. The course will increase participants' knowledge of safety and hazardous conditions that may exist at the scene, and will allow them to become familiar with safe practices adopted by the railroad industry. This course is delivered in an instructor-led format.
LOCATION: DeSoto County EOC, 830 Old Hwy # 51, N., in Nesbit, MS.
